Rear window-Angela,Jung

When I see this movie in the class, I was very interested in sight of the movie. The hero of the movie has to be inside his house because of his leg. And he look for other people in front of his place, audience also can see the same place of his. So audiences can follow the same sight of Jeff and we also can felt default feeling because we placed the same situation of Jeff. Suddenly camera shows the apartment situation to us that Jeff couldn’t see when he fall asleep. That makes audience to be strainded.

Audiences get concentrated in conducts of characters, and that characters get involved in other people’s conduction. It was very newly form of movie to me.

Jeff, the hero of the movie, didn’t recognize his woman. He was just interested in looking for other people’s romance. It was very irony situation because he just can feel other people’s romance. However he realized his precious thing when he get his woman Lisa involved in danger problem. He finally could realize there is something that the most important thing in front of him never comparing to things that can see through windows.

I think the set of the movie was very elaborate. I was very surprised at specific place description and realistic life place of the movie. Each window shows us different life, so we can see different stories. I thought it might be boring movie because this movie was progressing just in one place.

  1. Some good comments here, Angela, particularly concerning Jeffries' shift in feeling toward Lisa. It does seem that her risk makes him more aware of his affection for her. But maybe we could also read this as her conformity to his expectations and needs. What might it mean that Jeffries seems to love her more knowing that she'll do what he wants her to do, that she's thrilled by danger? And then what might it mean that she still gets back to her "nature" at the end?
